Managing Animal Health and Acaricides for a Better Africa (MAHABA)
MAHABA (Managing Animal Health and Acaricides for a Better Africa) is Elanco’s second shared value initiative and aims to support small-scale producers in Nigeria and Uganda by defining and implementing strategies to effectively manage tick infestations in cattle.
Elanco Leave it Better™
The Leave it Better™ initiative is a real-world illustration of action toward Elanco’s Healthy Purpose™ and was inspired by real stories from real farmers and ranchers, reflecting the shared desire to leave their land, their livestock, and their business better than they started.
Supporting Environmental Stewardship in the Beef Industry
Elanco is committed to the beef industry’s efforts to continuously improve environmental stewardship and sustainability through our products , services, expertise and partnerships. From 2021 through 2023, we’re partnering with Ducks Unlimited to help restore working grasslands, conserve migratory waterfowl and support beef cattle producers in western Kansas.
East Africa Growth Accelerator
The East Africa Growth Accelerator (EAGA) is a shared initiative that helps farming families increase livestock production with access to high-quality medicines and knowledge about livestock disease.
Global Day of Purpose
Every Elanco employee is entitled to 24 hours paid time off to volunteer in their communities. Global Day of Purpose is Elanco’s annual volunteer day to encourage employees to join local causes and charities to make a positive impact. Since 2014, our employees have given more than 100,000 hours to community service and disaster relief projects.
Antibiotic Stewardship
We are actively involved in shaping science-based recommendations on responsible antibiotic use, animal welfare, and the long-term sustainability of the food system.
