Managing Animal Health and Acaricides for a Better Africa (MAHABA)
MAHABA (Managing Animal Health and Acaricides for a Better Africa) is Elanco’s second shared value initiative and aims to support small-scale producers in Nigeria and Uganda by defining and implementing strategies to effectively manage tick infestations in cattle.
Global Day of Purpose in Europe
Global Day of Purpose is Elanco’s annual volunteer day. We encourage employees to join local causes and charities to make a positive impact. Our annual volunteer day provides everyone at Elanco with an opportunity to give back to the communities in which we operate.
Dejemos Huella – Let’s leave a footprint!
We have been working with partners across Spain to promote responsible ownership, adoption and non-abandonment and support of animal-assisted intervention programs for more than 20 years.
My #MuddyDogChallenge
Since 2019, Elanco in UK has been partnering with Battersea to support the Muddy Dog Challenge all across the UK. Battersea helps rescue cats and dogs in need of help. Our joint vision is that every dog and cat should live in a home where they are treated with love, care and respect.
Supporting assistance dogs in France
In France, we have developed a partnership with the Handi-Chiens association, who train and offer assistance dogs to people with disabilities. Together, we empower people in need to achieve greater independence, regain confidence and be happier.
Running for charity
Elanco colleagues in France set up the fundraiser projects "Les Foulées de la Faim" (Run Against Hunger) and "Les Foulées des 4 Pattes" (Support Service Dogs). Every year, they organize charity runs for employees or customers. Elanco France matches participant donations with 1 Euro per kilometer to select local charity organizations. Since 2020, employee donations are additionally matched 1:1 by the Elanco Foundation!
Sponsoring therapy dogs in Netherlands
For many years, Elanco teams in Belgium and the Netherlands have been supporting the local charity “Assistentiehond Nederland” to sponsor training of different types of therapy and assistance dogs. In addition, our local employees have joined the organization during our annual Day of Purpose to help clean dog shelters, walk dogs and learn about dog training.
Food for people in need in Italy
In Italy, Elanco colleagues are invested in breaking the cycle of hunger. That’s why they support different organizations, providing meat to the Caritas Fiorentina canteen and organizing charity runs to raise money for the Italian Food Bank ”Banco Alimentare". In 2021, colleagues donated more than 2,000 meals – four times more than in previous years.
Antibiotic Stewardship
We are actively involved in shaping science-based recommendations on responsible antibiotic use, animal welfare, and the long-term sustainability of the food system.
